The Best GF/DF Date Brownies You'll Ever Try
I have the seal of approval from Yael Groblas that these are *in fact* the best brownies she's ever tasted, just saying.
The Best Gluten-Free Dairy-Free Date Brownies You’ll Ever Try
Makes: 16 Brownies
Ingredients:
2 Eggs
¾ cup Coconut Sugar or Brown Sugar
½ cup Avocado Oil
¼ cup Water
1 teaspoon Vanilla
¾ cup Cocoa Powder
1 cup Almond Flour
½ teaspoon Sea Salt
¼ teaspoon Baking Soda
¼ cup 70% Dark Chocolate Bar, chopped
6–8 Soft Medjool Dates, pitted
Flaky Sea Salt, for finishing
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 325°F.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, coconut sugar, avocado oil, vanilla, and water.
Add the cocoa powder, almond flour, baking soda, and sea salt to the wet mixture and stir for about 3 minutes until fully combined. There should be no lumps and the almond flour should be fully incorporated.
Stir in the chopped dark chocolate.
Pour the batter into a greased, parchment-lined (or foil-lined) 8x8-inch square pan.
Slice the medjool dates in half lengthwise and place them on top of the batter.
Bake for 35 minutes, or 40–45 minutes if you prefer a more cake-like brownie.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack, at least 30 minutes.
Once cooled, slice into 16 pieces.
Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and enjoy!
Made these brownies and they were superb!!
Looking forward to baking brownies this week.
